Lodging Policies

Reservations are required. Please call ahead to make your reservation to ensure a space is available for your pet. We are extremely busy during spring, summer, and around the holidays. If you are unable to make your reservations, please call us to cancel 48 hours in advance so we may provide your reserved space to others. If you prefer you can make an on-line reservation request under Contact Us.

Check In and Check Out times

Please plan your check-in and check-out times carefully. You may come in anytime during our regular business hours; Check-in or check-out on Sundays is not available without special arrangements, so please plan ahead accordingly.

Check-out time is by 12:00 noon to avoid a charge for that day. If your pet must stay longer than the reserved time, please call us as soon as possible, but please understand that you are not guaranteed your original accommodations. After a three night stay for our luxury canine guests, we offer a courtesy bath or a discount off a regular priced groom.

Medical and Vaccination requirements

For your pet's safety and the safety of our other guests, all pets must be current on vaccinations and free from internal and external parasites. If Wellington Veterinary Clinic has not provided these services, you will need to provide written proof that your pet is current on these requirements.

Dogs Requirements

Bordetella (Kennel cough)
Influenza (CIV)
Heartworm prevention and tested negative within the past 12 months.
Parasite-free fecal test within 6 months
Free from external parasites or on flea prevention

Cats Requirements

Parasite-free fecal test within 6 months
Free from external parasites or on flea prevention

We reserve the right to refuse admission to any pet that does not meet these requirements and to change requirements as needed. Please refer to Client Info/Forms to Download for more information.

Flea Policy

All guests visiting us for lodging or grooming should be on monthly flea control. Upon admission to our clinic, all pets are checked for fleas or external parasites. Animals with fleas are treated with a product at the owner’s expense. We take all precautions to provide an environment free of external parasites.

Personal items and bringing your own food

We maintain a supply of clean bedding and blankets. We encourage owners to allow us to provide these items so they can be properly washed and disinfected. If you prefer to provide your own blankets and toys, we first need to determine that they meet our hospital's safety requirements. Any item left here needs to be clearly marked with your pet's name. If you would prefer to bring your own pet food or treats, please provide each item in clearly marked container with your pet's name and feeding instructions.

Wellington Veterinary Clinic is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.

Room rates are based on the lodging accommodations you select and the extra services you may want for your pet while you are away. Charges start the day of check-in. Check-out is by 12:00 noon the next day to avoid a charge for that day. Multiple pet discounts are available for dogs or cats staying from the same family in the same suite or kennel. Prices may change without prior notice. For pricing information, see Client Info, Forms to Download.

Payment Policy

Payment in full is expected at the time of pick-up. We encourage you to ask for an estimate of the lodging services so you are prepared when you arrive for pick up. If you are a new client to our facility or for extended stays we may require a deposit. We accept cash, checks with valid ID or driver's license, and credit cards; Master Card, Visa, and Discover.

Master Card, Visa, and Discover

Should you need a payment plan, we offer Care Credit. Care Credit is a separate credit agency that offers several payment options, including one that is interest-free. You can apply on-line or when you come into the office. Please make sure that you bring appropriate identification. You should apply and receive Care Credit approval prior to receiving veterinary services for non-emergencies. We will provide you with an estimate of the services requested or needed.
